St John’s on-the-Hill pupil Agnes Bathurst rode as part of the Dean Close Foundation team at the CLC and National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) show on Saturday 14 September at Rectory Farm Equestrian Centre. Agnes completed two great rounds in both the 75cm and 85cm classes against schools from across the UK to see her and her team mates finish 4th in both classes and qualify for the NSEA Plate Championships in November.
Agnes said: “The competition was really fun and we were thrilled with 4th place. To compete with the Dean Close Foundation team by my side and come 4th in both rounds was really exciting. I am making good progress and improving all the time – at my next competition I will move up to the 95cm class.”
Fleur Cradock, Director of Dean Close Equestrian, said: “Agnes is a great asset to our Foundation Team and a really focused little rider. I am looking forward to watching her progress, as she and her pony continue to form a strong partnership. There are few sports when we can bring all the DCS Foundation students together as one, so it is lovely to watch students from all three schools come together to compete, ride and support one another.”
