Year 6 pupils were given an introduction to the exciting world of engineering by Mrs Mo Follis, Activities Co-ordinator, at STEMworks UK.

STEMworks is a not for profit organisation that works with schools to help promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) and inspire the next generation of STEM professionals.

During a morning of STEM workshops, the children were set the challenge to build a strong and stable carnival float, with a working mechanism and at least three wheels, using K’Nex.

Well done to winners Carmen and Charlie who progress to the final in March to be held at engineering company Renishaw. They were chosen based on their ability to work together, solve problems, produce a working model and communicate their ideas to each other and the judges.
