This term has been like no other, but the teachers have been so impressed by the resilience of the children, who have continued to share what they love about school and their ideas for the future with a tremendous spirit for fun. They are full of confidence and evidently love all that St John’s has to offer. They coped so well with the huge level of disruption and remained highly focused during the remote learning. They have all learnt so many new skills that will stand them in good stead as they progress through their school journey and beyond.
The staff, too, have been utterly fantastic and have shown an almost never-ending enthusiasm throughout the term. Their knowledge and commitment to the children is outstanding as has their level of care. There is such a passion for the school, and the children are thoroughly engaged in their learning.
There are many things that would normally be taking place that haven’t been able to due to Covid, but we hope that, with the advent of a new term, we will see many more of the usual activities taking place. More details will follow when we have confirmation on the relaxing of restrictions, but our hope is that we will be seeing fixtures, sports days, concerts and more happening in the Trinity Term.
St John’s is in the process of making some exciting changes to our timetable for September, to further give the children the best school experience possible so they are able to move to their senior school fully prepared for that next step. The commitment to our values will help the children to build on their skills of independence, resilience and self-confidence, and we believe that, by widening the curriculum and exposing them to new experiences, we will be able to allow them to make even greater progress across the board. Further details will be shared after Easter, so please continue to visit our website and follow our social media platforms for news.
Wishing everybody an enjoyable, safe and restful Easter break.
Best wishes, Nick and the St John’s Team
