Registration Fee & Deposit

A non-refundable registration fee payment of £100 + VAT is due when a pupil’s name is entered to the School. An acceptance deposit of £500 is then required for all pupils.

Please note that when your child moves from Year 2 into Year 3, you will be required to pay the difference between the Pre-Preparatory deposit (£250) and the Preparatory School deposit (£500).

The repayment of deposits is linked to the settlement of final fee invoices upon the departure of the pupil from Dean Close St John’s. Parents are welcome to gift the deposit to the School when a pupil leaves.

Reduction for Brothers and Sisters

A reduction of the net school fee (referred to in the table above) is currently offered to parents who have two children or more at the School. The reductions, which are applied to the elder children, are 10% for the second child, 20% for the third child and any subsequent children whilst they all simultaneously attend the School. When the elder child leaves the discount ceases or adjusts down as appropriate.

Childcare Vouchers & Tax Free Childcare

The School is happy to accept Childcare Vouchers in part payment against the fees for children in the PrePrep from the term after their 3rd birthday up to and including the term in which they reach the age of five. Parents should note St John’s is able to accept Childcare Vouchers towards the payment of the boarding element of boarding fees. We also accept payments from the Tax Free Childcare Scheme. We can accept vouchers up to the end of the academic year in which children celebrate their 15th birthday. We cannot accept vouchers in payment towards music lessons or other extra-curricular activities.

HM Forces Discount

Dean Close School offers a Forces Bursary for the sons and daughters of serving members of HM Forces which is available from Year 3 onwards.

Notice of Withdrawal of a Pupil or Change of Status

In accordance with the School’s terms and conditions, a full term’s notice must be given in writing if you wish to withdraw your child from the School, or if you wish to change your child’s place at the School from one type of boarding to another or to a day place. Failing such notice, a full term’s fees will be charged. Please note that this includes all private tuition and extra-curricular activities.
