At St John’s Preparatory we welcome pupils aged 7 and above. We endeavour to develop a passion for life and this is nurtured in a secure environment, where individuality is celebrated. We encourage freedom and exploration in learning; the independence to explore what learning means to each pupil, inside and outside the classroom.
Every lesson, activity and club is an opportunity to stretch young minds at Dean Close St John’s. Whether that is in our outdoor classroom, at STEM club, in the Art and Design studio, in the swimming pool, at reading time with their friends or at Forest School, every moment is an opportunity to fire children’s curiosity about the world and help them to explore it.
To help children do this, we know that equipping them with skills to learn is vital. All of our children work towards the Pre-Senior Baccalaureate (PSB) which helps us showcase value the whole child: their academic achievements; their sporting prowess; their contribution to the arts and positions of responsibility that they have held. It also showcases skills like independence, collaboration, leadership, reviewing and improving.
